Common Barriers To Fulfilling Your Vision

Beyond the veil of our ignorance is the power to change the world, but why are we not able to see our own uniqueness? Why are we oblivious of our own power?

Some people have visions without the will to bring them into reality. They dream but they don’t wake up. Even if they do, it takes time unveiling the vision. In spite of this, challenges still bound, some make you feel that you made a wrong decision, you even get tempted to quit and get back to your former self.
You find yourself derailed and feel like life has lost traction and that you are drifting rather that fulfilling your vision. But have ever asked yourself what are the common barriers that can derail the pursuit of one’s vision before you got started?

Below are the most common barriers to fulfilling your vision:

Everyone is always happy to share his/ her own ideas, but upon communication, you may get discouraged by those around you. It could be friends, parents, workmates or even your own boss. You may get discouraged because people may fear the risks involved in your vision, or maybe they are driven by jealous, or because they find you over-ambitious. This doesn’t mean you have a poor vision.
Never say that you can’t do something, or that something seems impossible, or that something can’t be done, no matter how discouraging or harrowing it may be.
We are only limited by the way we think, we are our own masters of our destiny.

Disappointment is really just a term for our refusal to look on the bright side of our vision. Thus, it is not a sin to get discouraged but it is when you remain discouraged.

Whenever you are set to tackle your goals, there are tons of things lying in wait to distract you from your ultimate goal. Mind you, losing focus on your vision easily drifts you from fulfilling your destiny.

You may wonder what exactly might have caused you to get distracted from your goal, here are some causes of distraction:

  1. Shaky schedule
  2. Unspecified objectives
  3. Unclear goals. Learn how set clear goals.

And the list endless. A good example of distraction is when you take a loan from a bank to start a home business. After getting the money, you get tempted to buy the latest car brand to fit in the class of friends you want to please. At the end of the day, you buy the car and use the remaining cash to invest in the business. In many cases, such people end up having two unaccomplished goals: financially stuck to pay the loan and run the business.

Distraction wastes not only a vision but also, energy, skills, money and above all is time. It is usually hard to stay true to yourself and what you want in life when there are so many distractions around you. Here is how to get focused on your goals.

Self-deception is the act of hiding the truth from yourself, or the act of lying to yourself or making yourself believe in something that isn’t true. Doing such a thing, you go against yourself and the hero in you will eventually die, including the big dreams and aspirations you had for a greater life. Living a lie will always strive to reduce you to one. Stay true to the goal and destiny will be guaranteed.

Had the Devil not used doubt against man in the Garden of Eden, no sin would have been committed. He used it long ago, and still uses it today.

In his famous quote, Vincent Willem said, “If you hear a voice within you say you cannot paint, the by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.”

Doubt may come in different forms:

  • Doubting your new bold plans and how others may think of them.
  • Doubting your abilities to do what you want to do.
  • Doubting whether you can go beyond your past, failures or weaknesses.

Doubting your power is giving power to your doubt. Doubt is like a self-replicating virus that attacks our self-esteem, productivity and confidence.

Doubt causes fear, self-deception, discouragement and distraction among many other ingredients of failure in achieving your dreams. In fact, doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.
At all cost, never let doubt fill your heart because His plan for your life is your ultimate destiny.
